The same 95% rye mash bill as our 6 Year, but matured a full decade in a Refill Bourbon Barrel instead of Virgin American Oak. The refill barrel’s already-spent tannin lets us push the maturation out to ten years without the wood taking over — the rye grain stays the loudest thing in the glass even at that age, just rounded out with a decade’s worth of soft vanilla underneath it.
Bottled at 47.5% ABV. Where the 6 Year is built to be sharp and assertive, this is the rye we point people toward when they want the same grain character with more time behind it.
